Saint-Emilion wine tour
The vineyards of Saint-Émilion are located on a limestone plateau spread over several small valleys surrounding the medieval town of the same name and feature notable designations such as Montagne, Lussac and Puisseguin.
The medieval town of Saint-Émilion itself is home to an impressive collection of historical sites and monuments (hermitage, monolithic church, collegiate church, Archbishop’s palace, opulent buildings and the remnant’s of the medieval fortification).
The medieval town and its jurisdiction was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1999 and the most notable of its vineyards are Château Cheval Blanc, Château Ausone, Château Angelus. The neighboring designation of Pomerol is also highly renowned for its most famous growths: Pétrus, Le Pin, La Conseillante amongst others…
